Subcontinent Divided is a critical reflection on 75 years of independence, partition and diaspora in South-Asia bringing together communities from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
The identity design has been developed from the rich textile history of the subcontinent which is region-specific but also subject to reinterpretation. These practices have been broken down into their stitch or print. Depicted here are kalamkaari, dhakai, bandhani, baatik, and silk embroidery.
