Team: Reya AhmedNur & the Nightmare is an illustrated series of 12 miniature-inspired artworks that reimagine popular fairytale tropes and regional folklore around mythical beings called Djinns. Blending South-Asian and Persian miniature aesthetics with a contemporary, narrative-driven illustration style, the project explores themes of love, gender fluidity, and resistance to patriarchal norms. Each piece is paired with poetic verse and evokes a world of flying ships, hidden treasures, and forbidden longing. Illustrated by Reya Ahmed and written by Maniza Khalid, the series challenges traditional narratives while celebrating queer identities.
